I see my children daily
on the journey of life,
anxious for what awaits
them on this pilgrimage.
In minds eye I see a Father,
death awaits his only Son,
to die on a cross, for mankind,
in shame to forgive our sins.
I wonder, is it a tear that I see
running down a Father’s cheek?
A love so great, to give your son,
to die for the sins of mankind,
is it a sigh of pain that I hear,
a question breathed, “was it worth it?
My hands reach out in glory,
jubilant for it was, for me!
Thank you Father, for a love so great!
