Tangled is an animation film and it is a very good one at that. It tells the story, no doubt some kind of very old fairy tale of some sort, of the princess who’s hair is so long, that she can throw them out of the castle for others to use as a rope to get to her.
But the story is luckily not only about that. Luckily. Because this little princess in the film happen not to know that she is in fact the princess. And there are a few other twists. Her hair has magic powers. In fact that is why she was stolen from her mother and father (the king and queen duh!). It’s because of the powers. And then the woman who stole her tries to hide her from the world, in order use the powers of the princess only for herself, and then the princess wonders what is ‘out there’ in the real world, and she wants to go and see visit other places, and then the woman who she thinks is her mother refuses and then she goes anyway without permission, and then so on and so on and so on. The story really starts from there on.
Without spilling the beans on the storyline too much, it is now time to get to the important part of this discussion, was is good and is it worth seeing? My answer, which, I must add, as usual, is a very subjective YES! Tangled is a must see. It is in fact a great film.
Apart from the fact that it is family friendly, a good storyline, great graphics and very funny at times, it also features great music. Take the little ones, grandpa and grandma if they’re around, and go and see it. Hey, if animation is not your thing, do your usual stunt, but if you like animation, well...
All I can realy say is that I liked it very very very very much. And I highly recommend this film. 8/10
