Often we draw a circle around us that shuts other people out. We do this in some strange way to try and protect ourselves. The question is – from what are we trying to protect ourselves? Sometimes I feel that we try and protect ourselves from ourself, we try to get into an area where we feel secure and where there are well-defined boundary lines. How many people have you shut out of your life by circles / lines that you have drawn around yourself? We can draw as many circles or lines or shapes as we want to, but the truth is that God is there, always capable of drawing a circle or a line that will draw you in.
How many lines / circles do you want to draw? Too often we get ourselves so caged-up with the boundary lines that we draw. We often find it so comfortable inside these lines, and that we are afraid to move outside them, we are afraid of what might be outside of these boundaries. Question: Are you afraid to be in God’s circle? Are you afraid to be drawn in by His love, by His abundance, by His grace? Are you too comfortable in your paradigm of security? Are you stagnating, standing still in your thoughts, in your relationship with God? How often do you renew your thoughts, thoughts regarding God, regarding your relationship with your husband / wife, children, collegues, friends and family? About your daily life and about what you do, say and think? God’s all-encircling love draws you and me nearer to Him, closer and closer, we need to allow God to do it, but it is still our own decision as to what we want to allow.
Remember, it doesn’t matter how big or how tight you can draw your circle to shut people out, God will always be able to encircle you, He will do it unconditionally if you will only allow it…! Are you in His circle or are you in your own?
