Is it any wonder that chicken distributors in South Africa (and god-knows where else in the world) simply wash the old ones stil on the shelves and simply shift the expiery date? We live in a world that is money driven. It is of little use to us how healthy or not the people around us is. Thát is not the measure that society uses to value our success in life. Hence, if there are gaps in legislation, it is only natural that some of us would put our first priorities well, first.
Is it any wonder? And who knows what else distributors only take, wash, shift the best before dates and put on the shelves again? Looking at where we come from, and by what standards in society we are measured, it was the logical thing to do.
But exposing the bastards is a celebration of the freedom of expression that we have in South Africa and the freedom independence of our media. It also explains why I almost get sick of chicken and ceased eating it a million years ago.
