When my soul asks me to dance I shall have a beautiful body, hear beautiful music and be beautiful – so that I shall dance beauty.
I shall not hurry over a bridge, but sing a song or two with the flowing water before moving across – gently.
When a sunset calls I shall stand still and repeat my name until I am in harmony with gold.
A shall accept a leaf from every herb I meet knowing the leaf is the wrapping for the gift of fragrance.
I shall hug whenever I feel like it and not be bothered by the petty laws of society. A hug is compassion and compassion is above the law.
I shall wear more satin and feel more queenly.
I shall bath with bubbles and petals and candles and fragrances – and without time.
I shall eat no fruit without first enjoying its texture and its fragrance.
I shall pray a flower every time a child laughs.
I shall breathe the lines on old faces before becoming impatient.
I shall greet the sunrise by standing barefoot on the earth.
I shall listen to life with open pores. After all, my ears can only absorb that much.
Before I say ‘No’ to the game of a child I shall remember eating candyfloss – eyes closed with pleasure.
I shall believe in life. Breathing is all the proof I need.
I shall smile and laugh more often and know I am growing a star.
I shall live more ‘thank you’s.’
When a friend talks to me I shall meditate the words – and remember the healing of silence.
Before I speak, I shall live with the words inside myself for a while.
I shall say ‘No’ with compassion, but with conviction.
I shall say ‘Yes’ with abandon and joy.
And I shall live with all the colours and fragrances and shapes and voices of the earth.
