I’m sitting infront of the – or I guess I should now say ‘my’ – laptop, treading through the one spreadsheet after the other while the words of Liani May’s lyrics fills the silence around me. I’m listening to the words of “I will always love you”, a song that was born with Dolly Parton, made alive by Mariah Carey and re-done by Liani who brought originality back into it, and I’m thinking of how applicable these words are to me at the moment. I know you are too busy and I know that to you my words are but that of an insubordinate but nevertheless I try to share with you, and try to make sense of this vast array of feelings that have declared an unspoken war inside of me for which there seems to be no resolve. So anyway, I am playing the cd through the laptop again, and will most probably skip to track 13 numerous times while the thoughts of our yesteryear just spill through my mind – and the thoughts of my spreadsheets just heavies the load between the membranes and my fingertips. Don’t worry if you don’t understand, very few do. Perhaps I can just ask you to think about me if ever you hear that song playing somewhere? To perhaps listen to the words and hear what I’m trying to say…? I won’t keep you any longer…I know your work demands your full attention. I’ll look forward to your silent russle through the back door again tonight, knowing that it’s one more day that you came home. Even if it’s not ‘home to me’…
