Sticky, delicious, golden, sweet, runny honey drips off my teaspoon into my red transparent tea. The soapy perfume from the lady sitting next to me tickles my nose. My eyes are glazed over so that I can only make out the silhouettes of the objects moving around my little table.
I’m floating now, not touching the chair I was sitting on a moment ago. The white tablecloths dancing with me, twirling and jumping like jellyfish. They smile with me as I close my eyes and throw my head back, my hair seems to have grown longer and is tangled in my widespread arms.
The crimson thumping in my chest is growing and growing. It is becoming restless and urgent. It feels like I am going to explode into a million little bells and fall to the ground with the most splendid of sounds. All tingling and bouncing and giggling with music.
“Miss, are you all right?”
I open my eyes. There he stands tall and smiling down at me. I imagine myself as a delicate porcelain dish filled with thick cream, and him as the greedy fat cat waiting to lap up every last drop of milky goodness.
“I am wonderful, thank you”, I purr.
Can I get you anything else.
Oh just the bill thank you, I really must get going.
