I was conceived and given life
So Little I can recall
Confused to be outside the comfort of the womb
Nestled in my mothers caring arms.
That was the beginning of my swift journey here on earth
Then came the season of summer
Only beauty that surrounded me
Flowers, colours, blue skies and now and then the soft rain
The sounds of birds a nesting and little ones to feed
The joy of the fields and the smell of green grass
I was like a butterfly, darting from place to place,
Too much to enjoy, great expectations of joy
Fearless and ever curious
Breathless at that which yet had to be discovered
Never seeing danger, just an endless journey of carefreeness
Winter was soon on hand
Green pastures turned into brown
Cold winds started to sweep over the fields
Flowers lying lifeless to the ground
Pounded by hoofs and peoples feet
Much like the first signs of reality
Expressions of hurt, feelings of worthlessness
And the cold clammy feeling of being alone
Too careless to handle the delicate balance between fiction and reality
Not accepting the blows of life
Ever denying, fighting the unrighteous
Every loss a dimension of disaster
Hopelessness struggling against death and surviving
Autumn was the quiet season
Depicted by its peaceful sounds of crackling leave
And delicate smell of musky grass and twigs
Settling down times for the weary hearted
Coming to peace for the restless in soul
Reflection time and caring but mostly sharing
Those lifelong seasons gone by
The pace is now nearly at a halt, nothing more to discover
Only paging through the pages of lost opportunities
Wasted precious moments
Spring is a season where everything is born again
In sadness it compares to your summer times
Only now, the carefree curious ways are beyond
You move inside yourself looking to the comfort of your own being
Things now pass you by and nothing really matters
You drink the beauty of the nature and long for the peace you never could find
You imagine the far away places, notice the different shades of blue
A leave is magnificient and the sound of a childs laughter
Suddenly turns into a miracle
The small things you notice and admire, but mostly you forget
It becomes quiet around and now you appreciate the wonder of creation
You wonder why the beauty of the old oak tree
Was never seen by you in your summer, maybe because then you would not
Have had the revelation of its beauty in your spring.
You know this is your last season so you live each day
Knowing that maybe tomorrow you will be celebrating your new Summer
Somewhere up Yonder.
