Girl From Aunty

I am a woman. I was born in Mauritius many years ago, and I refuse to grow up, much to my grandchildren’s delight! Although I take life very seriously, I believe one should have a sense of humour, which is why I laugh and joke a lot.
I ride pillion with my life partner, we have a BMW motorbike at first it was part of the “midlife crisis” process, now we do it because we love it, and because we have made awesome friends along the way.
I have three daughters from my first marriage, and Hubby has two daughters and two sons, also from another marriage. We now have 11 granchildren (legal ones) and three step grandchildren, bringing it to a hefty total of fourteen!
Christmas is not getting any cheaper either and we don’t even get discount on bulk purchases! I love them anyway. Probably because they don't really care whether I'm rich or poor as long as I'm me!
In this bed of roses called my life, there have also been many thorns, and I know about bad luck, hardships, loss and sorrow. I’ve had my share, and I’m certain there is still more ahead, but we will face them with courage when they come. Courage is being afraid, but carrying on anyway! Whenever I’m down and depressed I think about this quote: “I was complaining that I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet!”
What motivates me to write? I write because I have a story to tell, it is the opus of my life. To some it might seem silly, but to me it’s important. I write because I have to.
