After much deliberation I have concluded that Santa Claus is a woman! I’m sorry to be the one to challenge the sacred myth but I know that he is a she. Let me tell you why I say this. Christmas is a huge event filled with lists. Lists for gifts, shopping lists, guest lists, to-do lists, and what have you. I cannot imagine Hubby walking around the mall with my lists in hand, I don’t know about you. Can you imagine a man wrapping Christmas gifts or decorating the tree?
It is a time of year that takes a lot of organising and I really do not believe that a guy could pull it off. Most men will not even think about buying gifts until Christmas Eve, and when they get home they have a good old moan because there is only rubbish left on the shelves.
But the main reason for me saying that Santa is actually a woman is because of the little children. Early on Christmas morning lying under the tree is every child’s present wrapped as neatly as can be – and this requires commitment!
Santa Claus is therefore Sanita Claus. That’s all I have to say about that!
This is my holiday season ditty…
The Festive season is approaching fast, I’m trying hard to fight it.
If there’s to be a Christmas poem I wonder who will write it?
I rack my brain for happy thoughts to write down on my pad,
But everything that comes to mind just seems a little sad.
We used to have hangovers from partying night and day,
Now we have aching bodies to while the night away.
We used to go to rallies, parties and liquid lunches,
Now we go to funerals, and after funeral brunches.
That my friend is how it is and so my story told
And if you haven’t guessed it, yes we’re getting old.
I used to send out greetings so very warm and true
I know you won’t believe it, but it’s something I still do.
Here is wishing you and yours a Happy Festive season
(It seems to me that I forgot, I logged on for this reason.)
May all the best be yours in the year two thousand and nine.
Good health, wealth and happiness, this comes from me and mine.
