The only thing more powerful than the natural is the super-natural, i.e. the spiritual realm. If you do not grasp the reality of the spiritual world, the fact that you are a spiritual being with a soul living in a body of flesh, you will never live a fulfilled life; you will never break through into the spiritual and super-natural reality of God! Every creature is a copy of its creator, and man is created in the image of his Maker, God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.( Genesis 1:27 – King James)
Every person in the world is longing for a connection into the spiritual world, even if they do not know it, it is the only inherent truth that can set them free into the reality of being saved.
To be saved you have to accept Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of your live, opening the door of your heart, i.e. your spirit, to accept and proclaim that He is the way and the truth, the only way to God the Father, then the Holy Spirit of God will take control and connect with your spirit giving you instant assess to the super-natural, the spiritual world of God. Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6 – King James)
The purpose of man on earth is to become a spiritual leader like Jesus Christ who is led by the Spirit of God His Father. Man has to be able to associate himself so much with God the Father through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, that the words of Jesus rings true in his life. Jesus is the Son of God who only did what the Father wanted Him to do. Before His crucifixion He said: ”My Father, if there is any way, get me out of this. But please, not what I want. You, what do you want? ” (Matthew 26:37)
Can you hear Jesus' understanding of the Father’s heart? God wants us to have and to be spiritual fathers. God needs us to become like Jesus, so that we can disciple spiritual sons and daughters whom, in return will become spiritual fathers and mothers to the next generation of spiritual sons and daughters. This is the only way that the church of God will become clear on the father heart of God.
Very few people grew up in a loving, healthy and secure family where they had a father and a mother. It is a fact of life that our own parents are most often not our spiritual mentors. Actually, there are very few people who have a spiritual father or mother! Every person has a physical father and mother, or at least a man and a woman who contributed to their conception, but only the very fortunate have had a spiritual family.
We have been brought up to be independent, to become the greatest person we can be by fighting our way to the top, to achieve everything our parents could not be or do! Very often we become either the ultimate opposite of our parents, or the exact copies of the things we hated in them? Most often we are islands in an ocean, drifting apart and living meaningless lives filled with either achievements and performances, or tradition and rigidity. Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle, but never get around to exercising it in real life (Romans 8:5 - Message Bible)
But surely Christians are not islands? If you are saved, isn't Christ your Saviour, and God your Spiritual Father? Yes, but if you do not accept an earthly person as a spiritual mentor, you will most probably never fulfill your spiritual potential on earth and you will not understand God's father-heart! (This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What's next, Papa?” God's Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who He is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what's coming to us - an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go trough hard times with him, then we are certainly going to go trough the good times with him. (Romans 8:15-16; Message Bible)
If you can not trust and follow a man that you can see and touch and respond to, how on earth can you put your faith in God whom you can not see or touch! When God blesses you, he puts a spiritual person in your life. But it is not the spiritual, which is first but the physical, and then the spiritual. (1Cor. 15:46; New King James)
Every great spiritual man and woman has had a spiritual mentor, a man or a woman that took up a spiritual parental role in his or her lives. But very few of these great saints have been spiritual fathers! Only a few spiritual fathers have bred spiritual sons!
God is looking for spiritual fathers who will disciple spiritual sons, who in return will become spiritual fathers to the next generation of spiritual sons. The church of Jesus Christ needs to be built on the principle that Jesus proclaims: 'I only do what my Father tells me to do!'
If some of today's church fathers should pass away, there would be no sons to take over their ministries. Their own children could not take over the role they fulfilled, because they are not the spiritual sons/daughters of spiritual fathers.
Being born of a spiritual father doesn't make you his spiritual son or daughter!
Spiritual sons/ daughters are made by building their characters to the point where they do only what the spiritual father tells them to do. You can't be what you're not, but you can become what you're not. You will only be remembered for the pain or pleasure you have created. Blessed is the man that doesn't walk in the council of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of the sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law does he meditate day and night. (Psalm 1:1-2; King James)
Your future is determined by your ability to follow instructions. God never consults your past to determine your future. It stands to reason, doesn't it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he'll do the same thing for you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from the dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ's! (Romans 8; Message Bible)
Men do not decide their future. They decide their habits and their habits decide their future. The secret of a son's future is hidden in the daily routine his father teaches him. Sons do what their fathers do! It's not imitation as much as it is respect. Every person follows the lead of someone he respects. The habits that a father has, is copied in his children's habits, because they follow his example. The examples set by a father determine the children's obedience.
Disobedience changes into sin if it isn't dealt with! What you fail to destroy in your life will eventually destroy you. You can't whitewash your sins and get by with it; you find mercy by admitting and leaving them. (Proverbs 28:13; Message Bible)
What you fail to master in your life will eventually master you. All men fail, but the great ones get back up. God will never advance you beyond your last act of disobedience.
A father is always there to pick up the pieces and to discipline his children to obedience. A father's love for his children is unconditional and it covers all their sins. Your sins can only be confessed to a true spiritual father. Silence cannot be misquoted. Never discuss your problem with someone who cannot solve it. Only a spiritual father can be trusted to lend a private ear and solve problems!
Wisdom is the only real need you will ever have. Longevity is the product of wisdom. Happy is the man that finds wisdom; that's how you know who has it.
Children, do what your parents tell you. This is only right. “Honor your father and your mother” is the first commandment that has a promise attached to it, namely, “so you will live well and have a long life.” (Ephesians 6:1; Message Bible)
Spiritual children are sold out for their spiritual parents. They will lay down their lives for each other. A good father gives his children a lifetime commitment. They will never leave each other! The spiritual bond lasts their whole lives through, it's a covenant made by the father that is passed on to all the spiritual generations to follow. The success of the father guarantees the success of his children.
The greatest quality of success is the willingness to become spiritual fathers. Success is determined by the problems you solve for others, not the amount of money or possessions that you have. You will only be remembered in life by the problems you solve and the ones you create. You will only be pursued for the problems you solve. The problem that infuriates you the most as a father, is the problem God has assigned you to solve.
The late philosopher and author Dr. Francis Schaeffer wrote, “The dilemma of modern man is simple: He does not know why man has any meaning, this is the damnation of our generation, the heart of the modern man's problem.”
The reason we are not effective is that we have not been taught who we are as the children of God or what we have been placed here to do, what our meaning is. We are not taught to become fathers and sons.
The despair of the world system is evidence to the missing role of the father and manager. The despair of the church of God is evidence to the missing roles of spiritual fathers with spiritual sons.
Families that operate successfully all have spiritual leaders that understand and operate as fathers and as managers in the spiritual realm with an upward connection to God the Father through Jesus Christ and led by the Holy Spirit, and they have sons that copy them in how they live and have their being.
Will you one day echo the words of Frank Sinatra, i.e. ‘I did it my way’ or will you be able to echo Jesus’ words, i.e.
‘I only do what my Father tells me to do!'
