"Ships in the harbour are safe,
But that's not what ships are built for."
-Unknown
I have a photograph of my most treasured place on this earth and If I hold it close enough to my face I’m sure I can hear the sound of the ocean and the seagulls squawking as they accompany the fishing trawlers into the little harbour. This treasure is on the southernmost tip of Africa, a quaint little fishing village called Struisbaai.
A place where I can lie back in peace, listening to the lapping waves, the shrieking gulls and have the salty breeze caress my face. A mixed feeling of elation and serenity, more gratifying than you can ever imagine. It’s a place that puts my heart at peace with the world, when I’m there it’s as if nothing can upset me. No sadness, no illness, no tears just peace and laughter and sand between my toes.
Oh, dreams are good friends, aren‘t they? I’ve heard it told that your dreams are not important because they do or do not happen, but because they Could happen!
I suppose that to expect life to treat you well because you’re a good person is like expecting a raging bull not to charge you because you’re a vegetarian.
So until the next dream my philosophy is this; Fill what is empty, empty what is full, and scratch where it itches!
